Flooring
The carpet was installed in the closet. The seams of the subfloor were planed down to make the floor even. The tack strips were laid along the walls and around the storm shelter hatch. Then the carpet padding was installed, which was stapled down with 9/16 staples. A 6 lb. density carpet padding was chosen for durability. The carpet was then stretch to the tack strips and trimmed along the walls. Laminate flooring was installed in the office with a Quietwalk® underlayment.

Office Door
A 6 panel door was installed in the office doorway. We recycled a used door for this but still need to repaint it. The door fit perfectly with a little trimming on the door frame. A new door knob was installed on the door to match the others in the house. They are really looking like rooms now.
