Home Addition DIY Project - Interior Part 1

Drywall

The process of installing drywall has started, with 75% of the office area completed. Drywall is hung with 1 1/4" screws and using a dimpling bit. The bit helps set the screw below the surface for easy mudding later. Lightweight 1/2" drywall was used for easier installation of the panels. Here are some pictures of the progress.

Door Trim

In prep for installing the door between the closet and the main house door trim was prepared. Pine trim and boards were stained dark espresso and clear coated with satin finish. The first picture is the boards stained and the others have the clear coat. I prefer to use a foam brush to apply the stain, which is what I did this time. I'm excited to see the dark trim with the white door. The plan is to install this over the week end and continue with the drywall.
