1998 Chevy K1500 - Body Work Part 1

Body Work Part 1

We did some body work prep by removing some more molding from the bottom of the truck. The truck had chromed plastic along the bottom that was all deteriorated. Now that the weather warmed up it peels off easy. However, there is still lots of foam backing and adhesives to remove.

After removing the molding on the driver side we found a small hole(circled in picture below.) After pushing around on the area it was paper thin and when I kicked it in it became this big mess. The cab corner will need the outside replaced and there is a small hole on the inner panel to patch. I will go to LMC most likely and get the panels I need.

The next step will be sanding the body. We received the sandpaper we ordered last week. Also a future post for fuel pump replacement now that we have the fuel line tool.
